It is well known that the historic importance and prestige which the Cinecittà Kennel enjoys is on account of the high quality of its Maltese. Our breeding program is founded on a solid base of quality and confidence within the Bichon Maltese breed.
Personally and professionally my purpose is to introduce new bloodlines and Bichon Maltese specimens of great beauty, with the aim of improving the breed in our country. They are Maltese specimens imported from Italy, the cradle of the breed. They present an exquisitely correct figure, in which the incomparable quality of its hair, its precious head and its compact structure stand out. Our goal is to raise the most beautiful Maltese specimens, elegant and harmonious. To raise them healthy and completely happy. This is why the Santitisi Kennel chooses to breed the Bichon Maltese exclusively and has a preference for having few Maltese but of the highest quality.
We should not forget that breeding always has two ideals or purposes with different orientations: the selection of the animal’s psychic qualities (the character) and the physical characteristics, that is to say, the meticulous selection of beautiful specimens. The task of bringing together both desires is, in practice, very complicated. The ideal itself is complicated.
Our society imposes on us the demand of giving more importance to the physical aspect of the animal at the expense, on many occasions, of a defective selection of character and intelligence. Like this we could end up the owner of a specimen which is a champion beauty, but one that is an excessively nervous animal or clearly unfaithful. I understand that any person who enjoys this vocation, the breeding of dogs, becomes committed to achieving a specimen selection that unites the two purposes with purity. And so, he will take delight in having an animated but in turn calm dog which is as intelligent as it is beautiful.
The lustre enjoyed by the famous Cinecittá prefix to the Bichon Maltese name is the result of decades of work and intelligence polishing up and stabilizing beauty and temperament in this breed.
